Nigel Richards announced as Honorary Patron

Here at BIGLITTLE Theatre School, we are thrilled to announce that singer, actor and musical theatre star, Nigel Richards, has accepted our invitation to become our first honorary patron of the school. We asked Nigel if would be able to write a few words on his thoughts about the school. This is what Nigel had to say…

“My association started some years ago when Colin asked me if I'd like to come down and teach a workshop.

I had absolutely no idea how talented and engaged the students would turn out to be. I have now directed the students three times and love it every time.

Last year I celebrated 30 years in the profession, and, having played in 7 West End shows, I brought some world class performers to sing with me and the BIGLITTLE company.

Those who joined me included cast members from Les Miserables, Phanton of the Opera, Carousel and Showboat, and they were completely bowled over and inspired by the talented students of BIGLITTLE.

I teach and perform around the world and BIGLITTLE has the envious reputation of being the finest school of its kind, nurturing talent in an atmosphere of professionalism and discovery. No wonder so many of them have gone onto the major Drama Schools and enjoyed success beyond.

Irrespective of whether they go into the profession or not, I see firsthand how BIGLITTLE helps children and young adults to become truly good and generous people.

It was such a wonderful treat and honour to be asked to be the first patron of BIGLITTLE. Thank you.”
